Horizon Walkers don't rely on Wis too much, so that can go to 13, with your 15s (+1 each) in Str and Con. Start with GWM or PAM, but my suggestions above tend to clog your bonus action, so I like GWM. Personally, Dex melee doesn't do enough damage to leverage the Rangers 3 attacks at 11. Starting my first DnD game as a player later this month. I'm starting as a level 3 horizon walker ranger and am considering to multiclass along the way as a rune knight fighter. I think this would be a fun, interesting build, but have no idea yet how it is mechanically going to work out.
Rogue is always a good multiclass for ranger! Cleric would also be a good choice, as would druid. Probably will want to wait until 11th level Ranger (for Distant Strikes, which really is the iconic Horizon Walker feature) for multiclassing, or 12th level for that ASI as a general rule for whatever you decide to dip into.

On top of that, you can comfortably use Favored Foe adjacent Planar Warrior and saves a spell slot. For me, the value of Horizon Walker comes from the extra spells of Misty Step, Haste, and Banishment. These are just fantastic spells for a Ranger to have.
