The 12200411 PCM can be installed into the 96 to 2000 GMT400 trucks simply by repining the PCM connector terminals. The wiring is slightly different between the 96, 97, and 98 to 2000 trucks.

You have to license the tune that you want to use and you have to license the PCM. The only way to use the segment swap feature is if the tune on the PCM is the same OS as the tune you want to use. Hp tuners even has an autotune option to fine tune ve's on the go. So if you are familiarized with hp tuners it will be a sweet upgrade.When the 0411 first came back from Black Bear, there was only 22 deg at wot. Cruise timing was way low too, mid 20's rather than mid 30's. I sent it back with the data logs and asked for more timing. They did add cruise timing, but wot is still 22.0. For the record there is no trace of knock.
