Hello, I'm a rising HS senior who will be applying to the Turing Scholars program this fall. I'm already an auto-admit; however, my ranking is only slightly inside the accepted range (top 6.5%ish?). I have a 33 ACT (35E, 29M, 32R, 34S) and a 3.82 UW GPA (4.8W, upward trend with a 4.0 Junior Year). I've taken the hardest courses my school offers ...Since you're in the Turing Scholars program you'll probably have a strong, somewhat close knit, competent peer group (Good odds for a future co-founder) You'll probably spend your summers in the Bay Area anyway IMHO besides access to a strong peer group and industry connections, your college name doesn't really matter.Turing is a small cohort to offset the large school - different from being one of the many UT excellent students. 75% of them get a paid summer internship after freshman year! So “heavily recruited” is an understatement - at graduation, Turing Scholars get their pick of jobs, same as UIUC CS graduates. Question. I was recently accepted to the Turing Scholars program at UT. I'm also very interested in physics, and really want to take courses in that area at college. UT doesn't offer a Physics minor, so my choices are: Do Turing Scholars and take a few Physics courses, Double major in Turing CS and Physics. Which of these would you recommend?
