I pulled the drain plug and cut it down to the correct length thinking it may have been restricting oil flow. At that time I also filled with the recommended Honda 10W-30. The Older auto machines seem to have fewer problems than the ES. The Rubicons 01-11 and Rincons don't use the same type of transmissions as the ES models.

Once you have it loose and off, you will see that in the gears, there is some very thick, gummy, stiff grease. Clean out all of that grease.
