Chevy malibu cranks but wont start.

It is on back order with no ETA! I start looking on line and found one ... Jul 20, 2022 · 2018 malibu crank but no start. If the check engine light doesn't light up, the ECM isn't being powered up, assuming the check engine light worked before the no start issue. Look in the underhood fuse block and the I/P fuse blocks for fuses labeled IGN or ACC and check to see if they have power in the key ON position.cranks but no start. Pull the "U" hose from the fuel rail-- plug the hose. Connect a hose to the nipple on the fuel rail. Crank the engine--- any fuel coming out of the fuel rail nipple -- the FPRV is leaking fuel-- IT WILL NEVER START.

It should have just a touch of looseness. If it refused to start with starter fluid, your problem is probably spark timing, not fuel related. Rebuilding the carb will not fix this. Recheck your igniton timing at the distributor, and remember, the camshaft drives the distributor. If spark timing is off, the timing gear could also be off.

You have to start somewhere so do this: (1). Pull the coil wire off the opti and see if it's sparking. If it's a nice blue spark good that means your opti is receiving spark. (2). Pull the number one wire from the spark plug (insert an extra spark plug if you have one) into the end of the wire and see if it is sparking.
