There are definitely pros and cons of each. I guess all I'm saying is that one isn't definitively better than the other. Myself and others prefer BotW's weapon mechanics and you and others prefer a system more similar to Skyrim's. The weapon durability in BotW isn't a "broken" or "wrong" system. It's just different. i think infinite durability is to much, but the current weapon durability is terrible too, if im playing modded ill usually do 3x or 5x dura. weapons still break and i still have to go lynel hunting from time to time, but now one savage lynel sword can get me maybe 2 lynel kills instead of using up 4 swords to kill one lynel and only get one back. i think a good solution would be to have a ...
