This is a normal anti-theft feature. Some of the lower model Soul's don't have anti-theft, therefore it doesn't do it. The way to get around this is to press the UNLOCK button on the DRIVER'S DOOR SWITCH. It will over-ride the anti-theft autolock. I do this as a habit in the shop on all vehicles.
