I have a 2012 jeep jku sport, It runs hot only while driving, as soon as I park it and just let it idle it cooks down to around 208-215 and stays constant, while driving it has/will get as high as 245, but will fluctuate from 228-235. I can drive around town all day and go 55-60 on the highway with no problems (temperature stays just about 210, just under 210 is normal for a Jeep, so a little hotter than normal but will never overheat.) Thermostat is not that old (about a year) so I replaced the PCV valve which was toast (and quite a pain in the arse). At idle or even low speeds (45-50) it’s fine. It could have also gone bad or perhaps it has the wrong pressure rating and is releasing pressure (coolant) at too low of a pressure. The radiator cap should have an 18 lb. pressure rating.
