I just replaced my gear shifter knob button and a spring in the shifter assembly. It was a super easy fix and the parts cost me $16.Stick the key in to unlock it the shift lock. For the last few days I haven't been able to shift out of park unless I put my key in the hole on top of the steering column and put it in neutral, then re-crank the car and then shift to Reverse or Drive. This is happening every time.One way around this is to have someone pull you uphill just about 1/2" inorder to remove the tension and I bet you will be able to shift out of park.
