The problem with finding good archetypes for kineticist is that because of the unique nature of their class (spellcaster without spell slots, spell attacks that kind of scale like weapon attacks but specifically aren't weapon attacks, most of their feats are activities or abilities that demand action investment) it's very difficult to find an archetype that plays nicely with them.Oddly, water may be the best element for raw damage at the lower levels. Tidal Hands (water 1st) has good targeting and good damage, beating out even Blazing Wave (fire 4th). Similarly, Winter's Clutch (water 1st) might not be much to start with, but it has solid scaling as a damage aura.
