MY05 Passat BHW TDi - P0299, P0101. Working on a friend's Passat wagon, and he wants me to replace the turbo to fix the code. It 'may' be the turbo, but I want to make sure before throwing useless parts at it.. I've read on here many times that it could be the turbo, a boost leak, the MAF, the EGR, N75, the wastegate, etc.P0299 in a Chevy Trax is a code that is triggered when the car's Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an underboost condition in the car's turbocharger. We replaced the turbo with an OEM one and it fixed the code. I think if you get an aftermarket turbo, you might need to get a tune done to make it work or the code will come back. P0299 solutions. 2013 cruze 1.4 Hi all, I just got a the p0299 code turbo underboost... My car runs and accelerates fine. I'm not sure if it's in limp mode. The previous owner did an oil change on the car and I think they did NOT put synthetic oil in and I was told that could cause the code and a simple oil change can solve it.
