60/60 mods in addition to 2x 120% Corrosive mods are not for the status chance, but to get more corrosive damage on it. Even though status doesn't work on the Orphix, more Corrosive is still better. Because of the Orphix' armor, it is more effective to use a 60/60 mod for more Corrosive than using a 120% mod of an unrelated element.
