Feb 13, 2012 · Ok so Saturday I'm gettin ready to leave work, had moved the truck around to the wash bay, cleaned it up, brought it inside to do detailing on it. get done with that, start it and throws CEL and defaulted to max rail pressure. cleared codes in the truck, light instantly came back on. checked the fault codes and found the only code was p0090 for fuel pressure control circuit. It is fixed!! 03 duramax crew cab LB7.. No mods on truck and a little over 60k on the clock. After several trips to the dealer and this past week in the shop the problem is fixed. I had brought my truck to the dealer for a hard start (crank no fire) and an extended start issue. If you read the other threads (p0090) you will see what was going on.Having some issues with my 2017 l5p. Have been getting the p0191 code for the last year and a half. I had the code read at Auto Zone. They said it had to do with fuel pressure control/performance. The code #P0089 says the fuel pressure solenoid control circuit voltage is implausible. Probable causes: Open or short circuit condition. Faulty fuel pressure solenoid. EMC fault. It seems to happen every time I get fuel.

What I would do is check the wiring from the coolant sensor all the way back to the main harness. Use a multimeter and verify you have continuity from the connector at the sensor all the way back to the main bail connector that sits above the hardline coolant hose (the one that connects to your thermostat housing).P0090 is fuel pressure regulator control circuit- I doubt it would keep it from starting, but would definitely affect the way it runs by the regulator not operating properly.
